Landscape Mode Please!

No landscape mode makes this hard to use.

4th Request for LANDSCAPE Mode

Is it because of the current rating (though only 62 reviews) that you are ignoring those of us who have requested to bring landscape mode back? What a simple thing, and such a sad commentary for a ministry of this caliber. 3rd Request for LANDSCAPE Mode Please-The latest version update on June 9th says "bug fixes and performance optimization." The primary and obvious bug and performance opt that seems to have been needed (according to reviews) is landscape mode, and that was not fixed. I give only 1 star because of lack of responsiveness regarding something that was previously available. Prior Review: Please, please, please re-enable landscape mode. Thanks. Prior Review - 2nd request for Just One Little Thing: Please re-establish the landscape mode. I have many, many apps, and this is the only one that does not support landscape. Prior Review: I love Ligonier Ministries - have for years. Thrilled to have this app, but I desperately need to have landscape mode. I had it prior to receiving the January 2016 issue, and then it was gone (and I did not change any settings in the app or on my iPad). If I am missing something, please advise. Otherwise, can it be restored? NOTE TO ALL READERS: If you currently are not subscribing to Ligonier Connect, you need to do so!! It is absolutely well worth it. The tremendous value far, far exceeds the minimal investment.

Tabletalk for iPhone

So Im loving the idea of having Tabletalk on my devices. However, I would prefer to use my iPhone. This is my request.

Excellent

Great! Looks good and I can read it on the run. Thanks!

Hooray for digi-TableTalk!

I avoid buying/keeping paper based media, having this publication available for my iPad is most welcome. Thanks!

Tabletalk mag online

Love this App!!!! I receive the magazine via mail each month but this is an awesome resource to take with me when I travel or anytime! If youve never read Tabletalk ...do so at once...very rich theologically sound articles to help you become spiritually mature and enrich your walk in Christ! I love love love this magazine. I am so thankful to have it ...and I give a yearly subscription to family and friends for special occasions to help them grow in their faith in Christ ... A must have for those who are in Christ!!!!!!

Very Timely!

I was just looking for an e-version of Tabletalk last week! Its a great resource, a great encouragement, and finally its a great app!

Finally, something worth getting excited about in Newstand

I have been a subscriber for a while now to the print publication and have longed to have the luxury of referring back or just having the daily devotionals handy. Now I do, there are 5 issues available for you if you have a subscription already and if you dont its worth subscribing just for this option alone. The implementation is awesome, the articles are clear and when you read them it is simple to navigate through to the next article. Although many may not like the adverts, I am appreciative the entire magazine seems present here. When you read along you can drop a bookmark or exit the app entirely and when you return youre right where you left off. Tabletalk is an awesome monthly resource for discussion and thoughtful meditation to add to your reading regiment. If youre interested in finding a source for online study Ligonier.org is a great website, there is an app available as well. I am just thrilled to finally have something worthwhile to use the newstand app for, thus far it has been relegated to the back panel of my iOS screens where it can just be out of the way.

Finally

Ligonier Ministries has been such a huge blessing in my relationship with Christ. Ive been subscribing to Tabletalk Magazine for several years and recently bought an iPad and was waiting for Tabletalk to be released in a digital format and now the wait is finally over. The magazine layout is very well thought out and the iPad Retina Display really makes the pages of Tabletalk look beautiful. This is a really well made and designed app that makes it very easy and fun to navigate through this great magazine. Kudos to Ligonier.

Tabletalk Magazine

Outstanding read and devotional. Very meaty and challenging. Thank you RC for making this available as an app. Ive been a longtime subscription holder of the paper version.

Wonderful!

I am a longtime subscriber and have been waiting for an e-version of the magazine for some time now. Great app! Thank you for making Tabletalk available via the iPad.

A long awaited treasure!

Ive been waiting for this for 3 years. Have been a Tabletalk subscriber for 4 years now. It is a staple in my daily devotional. Thanks Ligonier for listening to us who requested this gem and thanks for always feeding me with the wisdom of the wonderful men and women who provide their insights into the Word of life.

Finally!

I have been waiting for this! Very well dome!

Thrilled - Almost - then I started using it

When I learned that Tabletalk was available for the iPad I was initially thrilled. I immediately signed up for three months and purchased the past issues. Before actually starting to use it. But once I started to use it I realized that it has a couple of key limitations. Though it may help the appearance to implement as part of Apples Newstand (and it does look great) there does not appear to be any way to - change the font size for easier reading - or the color theme for "night" mode - highlight as I used to with the paper version and which I can do with the old versions I read via Logos - automatically link it to Bible passages as I can with Logos. - you cant read it on your Mac or PC So although I am not a big fan of Logos its reading and study experience is much more functional than this Tabletalk implementation. These shortcomings are probably an issue for anyone else. But they are show stoppers for me. Fortunately I have 250 old issues in Logos which I wish were in another tool like The Bible App to Accordance but at least I can highlight, read them on different platforms, adjust the font to a size that suits me, link to or open a short window to referenced Bible passages "For More Reading" passages.

Tabletalk

Tabletalk is an oasis of sound reformed theology. I especially appreciate the critical analysis of current trends in theology, always pointing back to the Biblical basis for orthodox teaching.

App a little buggy

Pro: love having full TableTalk access wherever I am. Con: app is a bit buggy and annoying. Several major flaws: 1) when I am toward the top of a page and scroll a bit, it jumps back to the top; 2) when I scroll down in an article and swap apps and come back, the app forgets where I am and jumps back to the top; 3) the app frequently forgets what page I am on. More annoying is that you cant make highlights for copying, sharing, or saving for later.

Fantastic publication - now make it for the iPhone 6 Plus !

thanks for publishing solid reformed content - no where else can you get this depth of material on a regular basis. Please make it compatible with the iPhone 6 Plus - the screen is plenty large!

Wonderful App… But...

I downloaded this app right away when I found out about it through Ligonier. It’s simply a wonderful app, and I love how the layout is pretty much exactly what you get when you read the actual, printed books. However, the only thing that bothers me is the inability to highlight. Now, I haven’t had the app in a while because my iPad is busted, and maybe an update has fixed that (the release notes for the new versions don’t specifically say whether or not they have fixed this). In the printed books, I can at least underline, but this app makes it convenient because you can basically carry the last almost 3 years worth of magazines just on your tablet if you need to reference something later. So, adding the ability to highlight would make this app pretty brilliant. I wouldn’t even care if it was just one color at this point! I apologize if the app HAS updated so that we have the ability to highlight it, and once my iPad is fixed, I’ll update this review. Nonetheless, I’m still giving it 5 stars simply because I appreciate this ministry and the willingness to take resources to the digital world we live in. :)

Great devotion

I have been reading Tabletalk for ~12 years. It is one of the few devotions that deliver depth on a daily basis. I do wish that it would interface with the electronic version of the Reformation Study Bible.

Great magazine, pretty good app

Ive been reading Tabletalk for many years even before there was an app (or an iPad) to read it on. The meaningful articles and thoughtful devotionals are top notch. A high level of excellence for the magazine all around. However, the recent update is very slick but still feels like a step backwards in some respects. For one, weve lost the ability to read it in landscape format. It will only display in portrait view no matter how you rotate it and you will know it responds to rotating when it turns completely upside down but refuses to turn sideways. Its not the end of the world but I read it on the train every morning and its just easier to manage the iPad in portrait view. Since its been able to do it all along it seems counter effective to remove that which is a useful feature. Secondly, the new references on the side of the devotionals are a nice idea but the font size is not as readable. It would be nice to be able to adjust that if not just make it a tad larger. Finally, it seems a completely lost opportunity to not include the entire main scripture for each days devotional even if it needs to be scrolled as the references do. Being that the references have included multiple chapters from the Bible I do not understand why the main scripture that the devotional is based on wouldnt either also scroll and be complete or be included as the first item under references. Its nice to have the references so handy but it still makes me look in a bible app to read the entire scripture for the day when it is too long to be included in the print version but thats the beauty of the app: it can have the same elegant appearance as the print version but still do more. Bottom line: It would be nice to be able to use it in landscape mode again and increase the font size in References but even more convenient would be including the entirety of the main devotional scripture within the app.
